BSD at CSI Academies

CSI conducted an extremely successful event in Dallas February 26-28. The CSI Academies sold out, with over 150 registrants, and there was an extensive waiting list.

BSD was pleased to have two representatives at the Dallas event – Steve Demand and Adam Heiser – and we provided tote bags and lanyards to all registrants. BSD also sponsored the welcoming reception on the first evening, with wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres served.

There were three tracks for attendees – the Product Representative Academy, the Contract Administrator Academy, and the Construction Specifier Academy, with a few events attended by all registrants. According to Walt Marlowe, CSI Executive Director and CEO, “The CSI Academies share real-world practices and ideas that reflect the evolution of the construction industry. This program gives professionals an invaluable opportunity to learn about current industry issues and gain a comprehensive understanding of how people in many disciplines work together to complete a project.”

BSD’s participation included discussions with members of all three tracks. Steve and Adam were able to share information about BSD’s products, especially BSD SpecLink-E and BSD LinkMan-E, with each of the groups. The connection between BSD SpecLink-E and construction specifiers should be obvious, of course, but BSD’s LEED reports and its dozens of administrative reports were of special interest to the contract administrators. And the opportunities for building product manufacturers in BSD SpecLink, such as BSD’s enhanced listing capabilities, were of great interest to many of those in the Product Representative Academy.

BSD’s presence at this stellar CSI event is anticipated to be the first of many that will showcase the new relationship between the two organizations. CSI and BSD have formed a close partnership that will build on a natural strategic fit, enabling us to offer more to our members and customers than either organization could do on its own.
