New Section Synopses: 

Decorative Metal Fences and Gates

SpecLink’s new section 32 3119 (02825) - Decorative Metal Fences and Gates is a non-proprietary section that specifies welded or mechanically-fastened fences assembled from a range of standardized, factory-finished steel or aluminum components and allows for multiple combinations of panel style, picket spacing, finial type and a number of other decorative options.

The range of options and SpecLink’s intelligent linking allows the user to select from a number of durable, attractive and economical fence options. 

The products featured represent ASTM F 2408 Industrial grade and High Security installations and range from heavy industrial steel fence systems to anti-ram barriers and vehicle entanglement systems. Maintenance free coatings coupled with a durable design offer owners and developers a product that can match all project requirements for safety and security.

Helical Foundations

Another of SpecLink’s new, non-proprietary sections for Spring 2010 is Section 31 6615 (02465) - Helical Foundation systems are a versatile deep foundation alternative, used below grade beams to support heavy wall and column loads. Section 31 6615 offers the user a range of design and capacity options with intelligent linking to the appropriate materials, reference standards and installation requirements.

Helical systems can also permanently stabilize or replace failed existing foundations and also serve as a tension anchors for retaining walls. Helical foundation components, couplings and load-transfer devices are designed to meet project-specific requirements, manufactured from structural steel and are hot-dip galvanized. Helical foundations also have the advantages of quick installation in areas of limited clearance and in any weather; installation is vibration-free (no hammering), they do not generate spoil (waste) soil material that must be carried away and do not require messy grout or concrete. Load tests can be conducted and new concrete placed immediately following installation.

Rainscreen Weather Barrier with 2-D Drainage

07 2501 (07261) - Rainscreen Weather Barrier with 2-D Drainage is a new, proprietary section based on Cosella-Dörken’s DELTA®-DRY dimpled plastic weather barrier designed for installation under most types of exterior cladding.
